The National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI) is now accepting applications for Shaw Media Diverse TV Director. Applications must be received by Monday, March 14, 2016.
Shaw Media Diverse TV Director is designed for participants with directing experience who are interested in making the leap to directing scripted television series.
This is an advanced two-phase training course for four diverse directors who are female and/or Aboriginal (male or female) and/or a visible minority (male or female) and/or a person with a disability (male or female). The program includes an intense boot camp in Toronto and a four-week director job shadowing experience on the set of a series in production.
The course is designed specifically for directing scripted television (drama or comedy) series. Applicants must have short film and/or feature film and/or non-series television directing experience and a desire to direct for the fast-paced, market-driven world of series television.
