We’re hoping to hire three summer students this year: a graphic designer, production assistant and library coordinator. All three positions will be 16-week contracts, at $15/hr and 37.5 hours/week, and all three positions are contingent on funding from Canada Summer Jobs*.
These positions are only open to returning students (students who were enrolled in classes in 2017/18 and will be enrolling again in 2018/19). The application deadline for all three is Monday, April 16, 2018 at 5pm. Check out the details below, and if you have any questions, send them to director@quickdrawanimation.ca.
*Changes in funding will typically affect the length of the contract and/or the number of hours per week, not the hourly rate
Graphic Designer
For the past four years, the posters, trailers and other promotional for our annual animation festival have been designed by summer students, and we’re looking forward to keeping that tradition going. The summer graphic designer position will give you a chance to create a visual identity for an internationally recognized animation festival, with a whole lot of creative freedom, plus guidance from Quickdraw’s staff. It’s a big job, but also a great opportunity, and we’re stoked to see what you’ll come up with.
Quickdraw 2018 Summer Graphic Designer
Production Assistant
We’re looking for someone who loves working with production hardware and software to help out with our production needs this summer. You’ll get to work with our digital and analog production tools, making sure everything is ship-shape for our in-school animation programs and our summer camps for kids and teens, and help us set up the systems we need to make sure our equipment is easily accessible to Calgary’s arts community. Perfect for folks who love gear and don’t mind getting your hands dirty.
Quickdraw 2018 Summer Production Assistant
Library Coordinator
We have an amazing library of books, videos, magazines and more that is meant to inspire and educate our membership, but we need a hand making it more accessible. If you have a head for databases and organizational systems and want to spend a summer immersed in rare comics, bizarre laser discs and beautiful books, well, we need you.
