INDIGENOUS ANIMATORS (OR ILLUSTRATOR/ANIMATOR DUOS) WANTED FOR SHORT FILM SERIES
COMPANY: Build Films
DEADLINE: May 14th, 2019
APPLICATION: Please email CV and portfolio examples to contact@buildfilms.ca
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Paid contract for two terms
Term 1: June 2019
Term 2: Late 2019 – Early 2020
JOB DESCRIPTION
Looking for emerging or established Indigenous animators or illustrator/animator teams to work on a five-part animated short series for a client with a national reach. Each film will be told in the first person and anchored in a real story of an Indigenous patients’ experience within the Canadian health care system.
We’re looking for animators who can help us embody our vision as well as bring their own style and interpretation to the series. Animators will be required to create detailed storyboarded concepts and then deliver on the original artwork and video files. Animators will need to create the characters and environments of each of the stories in 2D visuals that seamlessly bookend between a live video intro and outro.
The project consists of five thematically consistent short animated films (~ 3-minutes each) that are consumable independently, but also can be presented as an integrated 15-minute short. The final product will be distributed online.
REQUIREMENTS
- Identify as First Nations, Metis or Inuit
- Experience illustrating and/or animating
- Works well with timelines and creative team
Successful candidates will be contacted for an interview and sent an example to illustrate as an ‘audition’ before being hired. More information can be found here: http://www.buildfilms.ca/news/indigenous-animators-or-illustratoranimator-duos-wanted-short-film-series
