RBC Music Video Production Project
Production grants $5,000-$15,000 for emerging filmmakers between the age of 18-35. Calls usually* open in October and close in November
Alberta Foundation for the Arts – Film and Video Arts Scholarship
This scholarship provides up to $5,000 to Alberta residents 25 years or younger who are enrolled in film and/or video arts training. AFA states eligibility for training as “any undergraduate studies, or mentorship, workshop, master class, or course focused on film and video art.”
Must apply to have a GATE account at least 14 work days prior to deadline.
Alberta Foundation for the Arts – Film and Video Individual Project Grant
This grant is for up to $15,000, provided by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. It is an excellent grant to apply for if you are an independent animator. Projects can be broken down to pre-production, production, post-production through this grant, and you are encouraged to apply for each of those phases individually. There are two deadlines per year.
Must apply to have a GATE account at least 14 work days prior to deadline.

Canada Council for the Arts – Project Funding Grants
Up to $60,000 awarded to emerging and professional artists with experience. Must apply to have an artist profile at least 14 work days prior to deadline.
Calgary Arts Development Funding
Grant and eligibility changes year to year, but it is a great resource to be aware of.
Currently (April 2021) they have a “Project Grant Program – Individuals and Collective” where individuals artists can apply for up to $15,000, and artist collectives up to $20,000.
Telus Storyhive
Grant changes year to year, but it is a great resource to be aware of. They usually have themes to create content under. For example Music Videos, Podcasts, Web-series, Immersive, etc.

AMAAS Bursary and Sponsorships
These micro grants go towards really anything that will help out your practice. They are smaller, but way less intensive to put together an application.
AMAAS Bursaries grant up to $500 to go towards education and/or travel opportunities for individual artists, collectives, or member organizations.
AMAAS Sponsorships are available in amounts $500-$1,500 and are meant to support “media art projects, presentations, performances, and productions.”
