
Production grants $5,000-$15,000 for emerging filmmakers between the age of 18-35. Calls usually* open in October and close in November
This scholarship provides up to $5,000 to Alberta residents 25 years or younger who are enrolled in film and/or video arts training. AFA states eligibility for training as “any undergraduate studies, or mentorship, workshop, master class, or course focused on film and video art.”

This grant is for up to $15,000, provided by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. It is an excellent grant to apply for if you are an independent animator. Projects can be broken down to pre-production, production, post-production through this grant, and you are encouraged to apply for each of those phases individually. There are two deadlines per year.

These micro grants go towards really anything that will help out your practice. They are smaller, but way less intensive to put together an application.
AMAAS Bursaries grant up to $500 to go towards education and/or travel opportunities for individual artists, collectives, or member organizations.
AMAAS Sponsorships are available in amounts $500-$1,500 and are meant to support “media art projects, presentations, performances, and productions.”
